Limmer Creative’s market-leading app and online product EMT Review Plus™ has been updated with two major additions to help students in their quest to pass the test. New topics – Medical Terminology and Mental Conditioning – have been added to improve student performance and critical thinking skills both on the exam and in the field.
“We believe there is a core value in practice questions,” said Stephanie Limmer, CEO of Limmer Creative. “But we have expanded our core product past that to a new level of exam preparation unlike anything on the market.”
Medical terminology – In a survey conducted with EMS1.com of over 1000 EMS professionals, Limmer Creative noted that the most frequently perceived problem by students who have taken the exam is a lack of medical terminology knowledge to understand the exam items. This update includes a new section on medical terminology that includes common prefixes, suffixes and root terms as well as increasing the medical terminology items within existing sections.
Mental Conditioning – Students taking the NREMT exam are presented brief fact patterns from which complex decisions must be made. The mental conditioning section presents patient-related fact patterns and asks students to make clinical correlations to early and ongoing emergency medical care. This new section creates foundational learning opportunities and is an excellent preparation for the exam.
“The idea for the mental conditioning section came from looking at some of the most cutting edge educational research and opinion papers,” Said Limmer Creative Founder and Educator Dan Limmer. “Mental conditioning helps students identify key fact patterns and make accurate clinical decisions—both on the exam and in practice.”
Limmer Creative mobile apps are available on the iTunes Store, Google Play, Amazon and web apps are available at LC-Ready.com.
